More than 20 thousand smartphones with 5G support were sold in Russia in June

According to analysts from the MTS retail network, in June 2020, more than 20 thousand smartphones with support for the fifth generation network were sold in the Russian market for 1.2 billion rubles.

Devices that, in addition to supporting 2G, 3G and 4G standards have a built-in 5G module, took 3% of the market in monetary terms and about 1% of the market in physical terms in June.

The average cost of smartphones with a 5G module was 56,000 rubles.

The first devices with 5G modules began to be massively sold in Russia in February 2020. In June, more than 20 devices with support for the fifth generation network were available to buyers. As a rule, these are top models from leading manufacturers of Android smartphones: Huawei, Honor, Samsung, Xiaomi, Oppo and others. The average lifespan of flagship devices is over three years.
