Utility company “Kievtransparkservice” announced the beginning of the arrangement of charging stations for electric vehicles in parking lots in the center of Kiev. In particular, one of the first charging stations began to operate at st. B. Khmelnitsky, 6.
It is planned that by the end of the year several dozen more electric charging stations will be equipped at the Kyivtransparkservice sites.
“There are more and more electric vehicles in Kiev, but the infrastructure for them is not yet sufficiently developed. The Kyiv city authorities, together with NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, are organizing the first pilot project to equip electric charging stations for electric cars on the road network of Kyiv.
I want to assure you that the city will contribute to the development of ecological transport. We will start installing charging stations in parking lots in the central part of the city, and then we will continue throughout Kiev, ”said Valentin Osipov, Director of the Transport Infrastructure Department.
According to him, a memorandum of cooperation has already been signed between the Kievtransparkservice KP and NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, the operator for parking vehicles in Kiev.
The concept for the development of the parking space provides for the gradual arrangement of places for recharging electric vehicles in parking areas, as this will stimulate the popularity of ecological transport.
NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine thanks the city authorities for their indifferent attitude to the environmental situation in Kiev and the creation of conditions for promoting the development of electric filling stations. The first results inspire the Naftogaz group to expand the network of electric charging stations in Kiev, ”said Serhiy Ovcharenko, head of the WeEnergy project of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine.
Let us remind you that in April of this year NJSC Naftogaz opened the first charging station for electric vehicles WeEnergy. In turn, the Kyiv City Council is going to install free charging stations for electric vehicles in the courtyard and allow free parking there on weekends and holidays.
