Zach Nelson, also known as JerryRigEverythin, put Apple’s new 2020 iPad Pro tablet to the test. And based on his review, we can conclude that the company from Cupertino has not improved anything in the new product in terms of reliability compared to the previous generation model. The weaknesses of the 2020 iPad Pro remain the same, and there have been no improvements in this regard.

The iPhone 6 suffered from bending problems due to the 6000 series aluminum. The company then took that into account, and the next generation iPhone 6s was already made from the more durable 7000 series aluminum. And it was much more difficult to bend. However, in the case of the 2020 iPad Pro, Apple did not see fit to improve the build quality of the tablet, which came out 2 years after the original iPad Pro with Face ID appeared.

As noted by Zach Nelson, Apple has not changed the location of the microphone hole on the edge of the case. This was a weak point in the 2018 iPad Pro design, and this is where the body of the device flexed. As it became clear from further review, the body of the new model also breaks in the same place during the bending test. Moreover, the case breaks down on the first try, simultaneously damaging the display of the device. However, it should be noted that the Magic Keyboard case increases the strength of the tablet, and when the case is on, it is no longer possible to bend the device case. But the cover is not included in the standard package of the tablet, it will have to be purchased separately.

The display of the 2020 Apple iPad Pro is covered with glass, which provides a fairly good level of protection. Leaving small scratches on the glass is possible only when exposed to objects with a 6th level of hardness on the Mohs scale. When exposed to objects with a 7th level of hardness on the Mohs scale, more noticeable and deeper damage remains on the glass. The lenses of the main camera are covered with sapphire glass, it is covered with scratches similar to the protective glass of the display.

The back panel and side edges of the case are made of metal. They are scratched when exposed to other sharp metal objects. The display of the tablet is based on an IPS panel. When exposed to open fire for 11 seconds, a black spot appears on the display. But after a while, it disappears, and the display returns to its original form.
