We rarely write about cryptocurrencies in general and Bitcoin in particular, mainly news about scammers, enterprising miners and equally enterprising law enforcement officers. That is, exclusively in a negative way. But then a more positive reason appeared – during the trading on the night of August 2, the bitcoin rate briefly overcame the $ 12 thousand mark for one crypto coin. The last time a cryptocurrency was so expensive was almost a year ago – in August 2019. This is evidenced by the data of the sites CoinDesk and CoinCap, which track the value of cryptocurrencies on different exchanges.

True, shortly after taking the $ 12,000 mark, Bitcoin dropped in price again, and for the last 12 hours the rate has been in the $ 11200- $ 11250 corridor.

Bitcoin for the first time in a year briefly rose to $ 12 thousand.

Over the past month and a half, the Bitcoin rate has doubled – on May 9, the value of the cryptocurrency for the first time in several months exceeded the $ 6,000 mark.

Analysts associate the current growth in the rate with a decrease in the supply of cryptocurrency from miners and the interest of investors. Recall that in May, the cryptocurrency experienced its third “halving”, after which the size of the reward for adding a new block to the blockchain became half as much – 6.25 BTC. Presumably, the last coin will be mined in 2140.

The Bitcoin exchange rate rose sharply at the end of 2017: in October it exceeded $ 5,000, in November – $ 10,000, and in mid-December it crossed the $ 20,000 mark. After that, the cryptocurrency began to fall in price. On January 28, 2019, the lowest value was recorded since December 17, 2018 – $ 3388 per virtual coin. In Ukraine, at the end of last year, a law on financial monitoring was adopted, which came into force in April. Among other things, it introduces verification of transactions with cryptocurrencies in the amount of more than UAH 30 thousand, as well as blocking crypto wallets and confiscating cryptocurrency for violations .. post-facts {margin: 20px 0 15px 0; padding: 15px 0 15px 23px; margin-bottom: 0; border-top: 1px solid #ddd; border-bottom: 1px solid #ddd} .post-facts li {list-style: none; position: relative} .post-facts li: after {content: “”; display : block; width: 8px; height: 8px; background-color: # 40b8f2; transform: rotate (45deg); position: absolute; left: -20px; top: 7px} .post-facts li + li {margin-top: 4px}
