Android TV gets a redesigned home screen with recommended content and a simplified subscription to paid services

Google has updated the Android TV interface in an attempt to make it more user-friendly and easier to find content. The interface now has a feed with links to content that the user may like.

The feed will feature curated TV shows, movies, Google app recommendations, and sponsored content. Google states that “each source will be clearly identified, ensuring transparency for users.” This way, users will be able to differentiate between carefully selected recommendations and paid ads. The feed is planned to display only media and entertainment content. If the user stops at one of the elements, a preview of the content will begin.

Another new addition to Android TV is a redesigned subscription process. Now it will be easier for users to subscribe to paid subscriptions, such as streaming services. If you previously had to subscribe on your smartphone or carefully enter characters in the credential fields using the remote control, you can now authorize the payment and automatically create a subscription by linking your Google account to Android TV in just a few clicks.
